This medal is insanely hard to find named i have only seen a handful in over 10 years of collecting coast guard medals. This one is also historic it is named to the only recipient with that name. Rear Admiral Paul D Miller a highly decorated navy Admiral. He was awarded just to name a few defense Distinguished service medal, army Distinguished service medal, navy Distinguished service medal 5x times, coast guard Distinguished service medal and airforce Distinguished service medal and many many other medals and foriegn awards. He was a the Commander in Chief of US Atlantic Command and NATO Allied Atlantic Commander at the same time. He is a true american hero. Medal is minty and very nice ready to be displayed. Name is just slighlty off the line but authentic period issued!
